WORLD LEADING LENS INNOVATIONS
and HIGH-PERFORMANCE LENSES.”

POLYCARBONATE

Polycarbonate was developed in the 1960s for aerospace applications and is currently used for the helmet visors of astronauts and pilots and was used for the windscreens of the space shuttles.

Since then, Polycarbonate has become the standard in safety glasses, sports glasses, and children’s eyewear because it’s one of the most advanced lens manufacturing materials.

Polycarbonate lenses are lightweight, impact-resistant, and offer 100% UV protection.

TRIVEX®

Trivex® lens material was originally developed for use by the military in helicopter windshields and fighter jet canopies. Then, in 2002, the chemistry of the material was specifically tailored for use in optical lenses, making Trivex® one of the most lightweight, impact-resistant eyeglass lens materials available.
Trivex lenses are cast molded, and the slower cast molding process used to create Trivex® lenses results in sharper optics than injection molding.
In addition to having excellent impact resistance, optical properties, and tensile strength, Trivex® lenses are exceptionally lightweight. In fact, the Trivex® lens material has the lightest specific gravity (density per unit volume) of any lightweight material used for eyeglass lenses today.

PHOTOCHROMIC

Photochromic lenses are spectacle lenses that are clear indoors and darken automatically when exposed to sunlight. Other terms sometimes used for photochromic lenses include “light-adaptive lenses” and “variable tint lenses.”

Photochromic lenses are available in nearly all lens materials and designs, including polycarbonate and trivex®. Another benefit of photochromic lenses is that they provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.

Outside of the obvious eye health benefits provided by photochromic lenses is the added ability to customise the style of your glasses. Photochromic lenses are available in a range of colours and with upgradeable coatings such a polarisation and high density mirror.
